Setting and Achieving Goals during the month of Ramadan
Setting and Achieving Goals during the month of Ramadan
The month of Ramadan has finally come and it's the perfect time to break bad habits and create good ones. A month where you can replace the time you would spend eating with productive activities. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas on how to utilize your time, here's a list ! :)
1. Expand your Islamic Knowledge
Ramadan is the perfect time to learn more about your religion. With the help of the internet, Quran and Hadith are easily accessible and can be translated to many languages. Apps can help you track your daily prayers and fasts and many websites are dedicated to making sure you can donate to causes that matter to you this Ramadan.
2. Workout
If you are looking to become more fit, Ramadan 2020 is definitely the best time to start on that journey. With countless at home, no equipment workouts available you will surely be able to achieve your goal. Fasting during Ramadan is known for having many health benefits and exercising on top of that will ensure you aren't being lazy. If you have any health problems, please be cautious and maybe consider doing less intense workouts.3. Improve your Diet
This is a goal I've personally set for myself. I decided to try my best to cut down my sweets intake. I have a sweet tooth and I want to use this month to strictly fulfill my cravings by eating fruits only instead of chocolate or cookies. Your goals don't have to match mine. You can decide to cut out sugary drinks or incorporate more vegetables in your diet.
4. Learn how to cook
This is another personal goal. I wanted to see my mother make the food she usually would for Iftar and learn how to make them on my own. This is my own attempt at growing up. In the future I might live alone and have to spend Ramadans alone, I should know how to satisfy some of my Ramadan cravings when that time comes. If you are also a teenager who might go far away for college, you will understand my worries of not having you mothers' cooking around.
5. Character Development
This is a bit harder to do...it takes one to be self aware to improve their own character. Once you figure that out and take the initiation of changing, you'll be much closer in the path to becoming a better person. This Ramadan let's refrain from talking about others behind their back and gossiping. Let's try to be more positive and not let the current climate affect us too much.
No matter what goals or habits you plan to work on, I am rooting for you. Remember to hold yourself accountable and be patient , but also don't be so hard on yourself, you're human and will make mistakes. With all that being said, I hope everyone is having a blessed Ramadan.
সবাই, আমি আশা করি আপনারা রমজানটি ভাল কাটাচ্ছেন।
