Manage your Time 101
I just finished my first semester of senior year (yay for me). After cramming from finals and finishing colleges apps, I know how easy it is to feel burned out. This year has been a tough one for many people and it's easy to fall into a sad and unmotivated space mentally. As we approach the holidays and winter break, many of us are planning to log off and go into hiding. I know many have already picked out numerous shows which they can binge watch for the entirety of their break. Although, winter break is a break from school and work, it can be a great time to work on yourself. Relax from other pressures and work on achieving your personal goals this winter break. Here are some tips so you can achieve those goals :)
1. Create a List
If you're anything like myself, you have trouble getting your thoughts in order. I often have many goals so creating a list really helps sort them out. Make sure to include what you want to accomplish and some baby goals that is a step towards achieving that goal. For example, a long term goal maybe to become more fit so a corresponding baby goal would be to workout for 15 minutes a day for week.
2. Learn to Prioritize
Some goals are better accomplished now, and other would be better fit for the future. According to your lifestyle, realize what is best for you and apply that. Just a silly example could be, that if I wanted to learn to drive, but I have a exam tomorrow worth 25% of grade, it would be silly to watch driving videos all night instead of studying for my exam. Think the same with all your goals. As humans, we are all striving to accomplish some type of goal, but some are better for working towards now in comparison to later.
3. Set Timers
It is so easy to procrastinate and loose track of time. If you have multiple things that you want to achieve, it would be smart to set specific times out of your day to achieve. Dividing you days up my time, will help ensure you are doing the most with your time. There are plenty of planner and timer like apps available, but if you're prefer something written, you can easily bullet point your days planned out in a journal.
4. Don't overwork yourself
You can easily fall into a state of being to eager to complete your goals, which is fine, but you need to remember to calm down and trust the timeline of your life. Don't try to accomplish 10 things at the same time and like always remember to leave time aside for taking care of yourself. In between tasks, remember to take little breaks.
I wish everyone a great winter break. Happy Holidays to those celebrating. I hope everyone gets closer to achieving their own goals.
